The Help

A story set in the wake of the civil rights movement about Skeeter Phelan a writter surrounded by passive aggresive, cruel, racist women. Skeeter wants to write a story from the perspective of the help. At this time only a few generations after slavery black men and weman worked for horrible pay and unfair working conditions. Seeing this Skeeter becomes inspired not just by their story but by her own experience with her maid.

The black women in this story clean the house, cook the food, and raise the children but they are not allowed to use the bathroom in the house.  To speak out against this could mean their death. But two brave women Abileen Clark (Viola Davis) and Minny Jackson (Octavia Spencer) tell there story. After many obstacles the book is finaly published and becomes the base of gossip in Jackson Mississippi.

Even using fake names and an anonymous author these women are not safe from the scorn of the local bridge club.

This movie will show you the other side to racism and shatter alot of misconception. Heart warming and tear jerking this movie is a must see for all, white, black, red, and yellow

Something New

I'm going to try something different this year. I am going to review movies and video games specifically. I think this will be easier for me to keep up with and to sustain. I will always welcome anyone who has anything else in this  world to review but as for me I am going to stick to films and games and maybe the occasional TV show.
